Having great pictures taken of your wedding day is one of the most important parts of any wedding. Newlyweds are always so excited when they get their wedding pictures back from the photographer and can spend hours together re-living their special day. Here are a few suggestions of the many creative ways for the bride and groom to get some really fun photos of their wedding day.
One idea that many brides find to be fun is having photos taken of everyone as they arrive at the wedding. These photos can be paparazzi style and similar to the stars arriving at the Oscars, or even what you would see at a high school prom or company Christmas party. You can even provide a backdrop for your guests to pose in front of for either a professional photographer or for whoever happens to pick up the camera that you provide. These pictures can be taken with a Polaroid camera for instant fun or with a disposable camera but for higher quality photos you would definitely want to provide a digital camera. This can be an excellent activity to keep your wedding guests busy as they arrive until the official reception begins with the arrival of the bride and groom.
A similar idea is to make a Polaroid camera available to your guests to take instant photos for a scrapbook or memory book. You could even provide supplies for guests to create the pages right on the spot, or pages can be made in advance and ready for the photos to simply be placed into the empty spaces. Of course if the bride doesn’t want this type of activity going on before the wedding then the photos can be signed by the guests and collected in a box or basket to be used later. It would be a wonderful gift to the bride and groom if someone were to create the memory books with these wedding photos for them.
While providing a disposable camera at each of the wedding reception tables is no longer a ‘new’ idea, it can provide a lot of candid photos of your wedding guests that can be used in a separate album of photos taken from your guests’ perspective.
Sometimes the tastes of the bride and groom border on nostalgic or avant garde, in which case renting a mobile photo booth could provide some fun opportunities for the wedding guests to make funny faces for the camera behind the curtain showing how much fun they’re having. These services are often provided in larger metropolitan areas, search online or even check your local yellow pages.
